The 2nd match up in the Weaver region features an Orioles and Ravens moment facing off. Winner heads to the Sweet 16.
#5 – Orioles Wild Card Celebration In Texas
The scene in Texas when Nate McLouth recorded the final out in the bottom of the 9th inning is another moment I won’t soon forget in the O’s 2012 season. The O’s won 5-1 over Texas in the first ever one-game Wild Card match up to determine the AL Wild Card winner. The team celebrated on the field, but it was in the clubhouse that we got to see the real celebration go down.
With plastic draped from ceiling to floor, the Orioles doused each other with beer, champagne and whatever else they could get their hands on. A classic picture of Buck Showalter and Dan Duquette hugging each other, soaked in liquid is priceless. The Orioles were robbed of this moment in the final regular season game at Camden Yards, but the feeling was just as good as they moved on to face the Yankees in the ALDS.
#4 – Jacoby Jones Takes 2nd Half Kickoff 108 Yards in SB XLVII
With the Ravens leading 21-6 to start the 2nd half, they received the opening kickoff. Jacoby Jones fielded the kick two yards deep in the end zone and brought it out. Seconds later, he reached paydirt, setting an NFL postseason record. He even danced like Ray Lewis as the Ravens went up 28-6 and had the 49ers on the ropes before the lights went out in New Orleans.
