Capitals goalie Semyon Varlamov was honored for his outside week. Varlamov was named the NHL’s number one star of the week. ProHockeyTalk.com credits his outstanding play during the Winter Classic at Heinz Field for the award.
Being Semyon Varlamov was pretty good this week. The Capitals netminder stopped 55 out of 56 shots he saw in the week, earned a shutout against Montreal and held the Penguins to just one goal in the Winter Classic in front of 68,111 fans in Pittsburgh. Doing all that was good enough to make Varlamov the NHL’s number one star of the week.
Varlamov’s task wasn’t easy considering the conditions on New Years day. But the Caps goalie held Pittsburgh to just one goal.
I'm sure this isn't the last time we'll see this honor for this kid. Well deserved.
Why is it the teams I follow cannot generate any offense? Ravens, Orioles, Caps…
I think you're on the wrong story .. maybe even the wrong site. The Caps scored 3 goals against a high caliber Penguin team during a steady drizzle and 3 three against Montreal. Did you even watch the game Penguin game? I get it, you were refering to your own team, the Pens couldn't generate any offense…
