He’s human after all. =[
Orioles manager Buck Showalter informed the media in his postgame press conference on Saturday that the team will place first baseman Chris Davis on the 15-day disabled list. Showalter would not offer specific details on the MRI that Davis underwent on Saturday.
Davis told the media (via ESPN.com) prior to the game that he hoped to avoid the DL:
After spending time in the training room, however, Davis said, “I feel better today. Still a little sore; I think a lot of it has to do with the poking and prodding.”
Asked if he expected to stay off the 15-day DL, Davis replied, “Oh, yeah. As sore as I was (Friday), I don’t think it was a DL thing.”
According to The Baltimore Sun’s Dan Connolly, the oblique strain is worse than Davis previously thought (obviously), but he’s hoping to be back in two weeks.
