The Orioles aren’t in the market for any big free agents, but the biggest rumor surrounding Baltimore at the 2011 Winter Meetings is their interest in trading center fielder Adam Jones.

On Tuesday, I wrote about why the Dan Duquette and the O’s should be shopping Jones as I believe he is not interested in re-signing with Baltimore when his contract runs out in 2014.  It would be sad to see him go, but worse if the Orioles get Jose Reyes’ed like the Mets just did.

O’s GM Dan Duquette sat down with MASNSports.com’s Steve Melewski and squashed those rumors.  “First of all, we are not out marketing Adam Jones,” Duquette said.  “He’s our center fielder and we like to have him on our ballclub, and frankly, I’m looking forward to meeting him.”

Duquette did acknowledge that teams do inquire about the O’s best player, but said that the Orioles aren’t actively shopping him.  “But as far as Adam Jones goes, we want him to be our center fielder.”
