DeMarlo Hale could be Red Sox next managerBuck Showalter said after the Baltimore Orioles season came to a close that he would like to keep his coaching staff intact. Today, O’s third base coach DeMarlo Hale is interviewing to become the Boston Red Sox next manager.

Thanks, Boston.

Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe tweeted his endorsement for Hale, saying that the Sox “should give a long look” at home “after failing with a big splash last season.”

Joe McDonald of ESPNBoston writes that Hale if a perfect fit for the Red Sox, WEEI’s Lou Merloni concurs.

Truth be told and biases aside, Hale would be good for boston. He worked with Terry Francona both in Beantown and Texas and was the Red Sox bench coach in 2010. He was rumored as one of the finalists for the Blue Jays managerial job in 2010 and managed in the Rangers farm system in the early 2000s.

On behalf of all Birdland, good luck DeMarlo.
