Dennis Pitta - Baltimore Ravens tight endDennis Pitta could be back on the field sooner than we all thought. According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, Pitta could return from a fractured a dislocated hip in mid-to-late November.

Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com reports that Pitta could start practicing with the team this week.

Pitta is eligible to start practicing with the team and would be free to play in the Ravens’ Week Nine game because he’d have spent the necessary eight weeks on injured reserve, but it doesn’t sound like that’s a realistic possibility.

Back in early October, Matt Zenitz of the Carroll County times said that Pitta was making “significant progress” in his injury recovery. Now we now just how significant.

I’m curious to see how quickly Pitta returns. At 3-4, the Ravens could really use his services on the field, but if they continue to slide perhaps they let Pitta take his time in his injury rehab.
