April Fool’s Day is just the absolute worst. The best April Fool’s Day joke would be for everyone to collectively agree to stop freaking making them.
On top of all of the other bad schtick on the internet yesterday was former Ravens safety Ed Reed‘s confusing retirement announcement:
Just made it official! Thank u guys for all the support! #reeeeedtired

I just got a call from a friend, I was in pool with my son got tired and decided those that support me should know first, done #twitterfool

Reed hasn’t played in the NFL since 2013. He hasn’t played well in the league since before that. He’s one of the greatest safeties in the history and the Ravens have made it clear that they’ll induct him into the Ring of Honor after he decides to call it quits.
So who’s the April Fool’s Day joke on? The fans for thinking Reed is retiring? Or Reed for thinking he’ll play in 2015?
