MASN’s Rock Kubatko tweeted the lasted update on Orioles ace Jeremy Guthrie’s status. The Orioles starting pitcher told Kubatko that he’ll “push hard” to start on Sunday against the Texas Rangers. He also stated that his fever spiked at 103 degrees, “Just a tick below my fastball,” Guthrie said.

Guthrie was hospitalized with pneumonia after the Orioles returned to Baltimore from their three game sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays. He was released on Wednesday afternoon.

Kubatko later tweeted that the Orioles could push Guthrie’s start back to Tuesday in New York against the Yankees. With the day off on Monday that provides a free two days rest.
