After posting under 200 net yards on offense against the Bengals on Sunday, John Harbaugh has vowed that the offense will turn it around in their Wild Card game in Kansas City.
“We’ll break out and play good offense,” the head coach said in his Monday press conference. “That’s a certainty.”
With all of their offensive weapons, the Ravens have failed to execute a powerful attack against most of their opponents this season. Baltimore’s offense ranks 22nd in yards per game behind some pitiful teams including the Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars.
“I think we have really talented players and really talented coaches who are working hard to be really good. And, they won 12 games playing complimentary football. That’s the bottom line. ”
The often outspoken Derrick Mason stressed “making it work.” “We’ve got to make it work as an offensive unit,” the veteran said. “There’s no more excuses, because excuses are going to get you beat.”
Perhaps Harbaugh got Tony Lombardi’s message. We’ll find out at 1 PM on Sunday.
As I said in the other thread, this offense has under achieved most of the season. When have the Ravens had the ball in the fourth quarter, scored on a long drive to make it a two possession game and locked it away? I don't believe they have all season, thats the kind of thing I would like to see from a team that is going to make a long into the playoffs. Nobody has stood out this year except NE so the Ravens have a chance to turn things around but their offense needs to come alive for that to happen. The Ravens don't have the 2000 defense playing for them anymore, 10 points probably won't cut it this year.
Yeah the Ravens have stunk up the score board, but 12 wins and four in a row heading into the play offs is nothing to dismiss. Perhaps the regular season is boring for the team and the play-offs will bring out the best in them. I personally like their chances and think IF they can dodge Indy they can dance their way to Dallas. Here's putting my purple pride on the line and saying out loud that the third time is the charm. Anybody know of any package deals for the SB?
So, let me get this straight…the head coach, THE HEAD COACH is sliding to the fact that the offense has underperformed? Wow, more "white noise" I need to drown out.
Alluding to the fact, not sliding.
