Major League Baseball unveiled their 2012 Stars and Stripes hats for Memorial Day, the 4th of July and September 11th. In previous seasons, the hats featured team logos in red, white and blue. It was always weird seeing the Yankees wear red, but I found the hats to be a cool part of the baseball season.
This year, Major League Baseball has done something completely different. And I love it.
Rather than going with red, white and blue, the league has highlighted each team’s logo in digital camouflage.
The Orioles cartoon bird logo features the camo outline, while some of the other logos, like the Brewers, have it built right into their background.
All net proceeds from the hats go to the Welcome Back Veterans Fund, which helps returning soldiers and their families when they return from battle.
