Rich Hill took the mound on the hot seat in Baltimore last night in the first game against the Kansas City Royals.
The rumors are swirling that Chris Tillman will replace Hill the only thing that could stop it would be a near perfect performance by the curve baller.
That didn’t happen. Hill walked three and gave up three earned runs through just 2.1 innings. Bye, bye Rich.
Brian Bass filled in for 3.1 shutout innings and gave the O’s a chance to win it. They tied the game at three in the fifth inning when Matt Wieters hit an RBI single that scored Aubrey Huff.
Adam Jones hit a solo homerun in the first inning, his 15th of the season.
Baltimore couldn’t hold on though. Matt Albers and Danys Baez gave up two more and the Birds fell 5-3.
