Here’s an interesting question for you thrown out by Ken Weinman of 105.7 The Fan.
According to sources close to Weinman’s show, the Ravens offered more money to center Olin Kreutz (who signed with the Saints), wide receiver Malcom Floyd (who re-signed with the Chargers) and wide receiver Derrick Mason (who signed with the Jets). In baseball terms that an 0 for 3, three K’s in the books for Ozzie Newsome and the Ravens.
Weinman posted on twitter that veterans do not like Harbaugh’s practices and therefore chose to take less money to play for another team.

We heard about Harbaugh laying into his team on Thursday after a few of his guys reported to practice late. Perhaps the veterans don’t want to deal with issues like that in Baltimore.
I can see where some vets don’t like Harbaugh’s reputation for tough practices. What is curious to me is the Eagles haven’t had issues attracting FA’s despite Andy Reid having a similar reputation for tough padded practices all season.
In my opinion, if Harbaugh’s Ravens keep winning eventually this kind of thing will go away. If the team stumbles, it will become the reason. Ironic that we’ve come full circle from the “camp cream-puff” days of Brian Billick.
To me this is a non-issue. Until this team wins a Super Bowl, they should want to kick ass in practice. Hell, there are only 14 practices once the saeson starts.
You guys are REALLY making it hard for me to get over my disdain for Harbaugh. I’m trying, but you are not making it easy.
Maybe it’s not the coach. Floyd has a better quarterback in San Diego. The Saints are just two years removed from a Super Bowl win and Mason just got cut by the Ravens. Most people outside of Baltimore believe that the Jets have a better chance to make the Super Bowl. Those choices by Floyd,Mason and Kreutz seem pretty logical to me.
Don’t like Harbaughs practices??? Maybe it’s because they just don’t like Harbaugh! Hell, most of his own veterans don’t like him…

This is a very bad sign. Kreutz and Floyd could have really helped the Ravens. I dont think its just the practices, Harbaugh is just not a likeable person period
