If this magical ride is going to continue, the Baltimore Orioles will have to find a way to win in Arlington against the Rangers.
Thankfully for them, Texas lost 8 of their final 12 games of the season and blew what was a 13 game lead in the AL West to the Oakland Athletics.
Joe Saunders is a candidate to start for the Orioles in the one-game Wild Card game, but Dan Connolly points out that his numbers in Texas are scary bad.
In six starts in Texas, Saunders is 0-6 with a 9.38 ERA.
I’m seen some folks ask if Dylan Bundy could get the nod for the first few innings. Though Buck Showalter has been known to make some unpredictable moves, I’m confident in saying that there’s no chance in hell that’s happening.
Really, it’s Stevies turn in the rotation and I think thats our best shot right now. But I would look for no-holds-barred on this one and could potentially see Buck throwing in 4 or 5 guys that would each pitch 1 – 2 innings. After all, our bullpen has been the most consistent and some would say that is the reason why we are here.. i guess we’ll see.
i’d be worried about the hitting .buck needs to change the lineup if he doesnt do that doesnt matter whose pitching, i hope bubbles(adam jones) my nickname i gave him, gets on a roll,i’d leave jim thome on bench ,and i would start hunter…….
Don’t second guess Buck , I would say he has done a pretty good job this year,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,If they don’t make the playoffs , they don’t make it , it has already been a good roll for them………………just enjoy the game……………….
