The Orioles offered the General Manager job today to Blue Jays assistant general manager Tony LaCava, who turned the position down. Currently there are conflicting reports on exactly what happened and why LaCava turned down the position.

LaCava “was ready to accept an offer” as late as yesterday but “issues cropped up … that didn’t involve ownership or manager Buck Showalter.”
“This was about the Toronto Blue Jays more than it is anything about the Orioles. … They were classy in everything they did.”
It appears several additional candidates will now be interviewed.
I’m concerned that free agency is starting soon and the O’s don’t have a GM.
I’m concerned that there are reports that Angelos is not willing to cooperate fully with the GM.
I’m not concerned that the O’s didn’t hire LaCava.
What’s the big deal,,,,,,,,,,don’t you realize baseball is dead in Baltimore………..
