Yesterday we got our first official #MannyWatch of the offseason. How thrilling! Baseball will be here before we know it, you guys.
Manny Machado popped in Ed Smith Stadium during Orioles minicamp to pass out a few hugs to his teammates and give the eager media (and as a result, crazy bloggers) some deets on his recovery from knee surgery.
The short synopsis, as you probably predicted, is that Machado feels great. He took BP in the indoor cages, fielded a couple grounders and even ran the bases. He’s confident that he’ll be ready to go come February 25 for the Orioles first full squad workout.
In addition to answering numerous questions about his knee, Machado was also asked about being a newly married man. Here’s what he told the Baltimore Sun’s Ed Encina:
[quote_box_center]“I think that getting married and having that honeymoon was perfect timing for God to get me away from all this and bring me back to my senses of how life is. Because when I came back, I felt like, I felt like freaking God. I felt awesome, I felt great, my body was feeling great. I think that’s why I’m in this position now that I could do what I’ve been doing because I took that little time off and kind of let my body heal completely.”[/quote_box_center]
