Manny Machado continues to dominate the South Atlantic League after a three for four performance on Monday for the Shorebirds.
In his first five games this season, Macho has a .467 average (7-for-15) with two doubles, a triple and three RBI. The 18 year old has also proven that he is a patient hitter at the plate, drawing seven walks and earning a .636 on base percentage.
It’s still early in the season, but you’ve got to wonder how long Machado will be at the Single-A level. If he continues with this success, I would imagine it won’t be long until he’s moving up.
Minor quibble, but the Shorebirds play in the South Atlantic League, not the Appalachian League
I appreciate the heads up. Just changed it. Thanks Ryan.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the Orioles finally produced a regular everyday player? In the last 25 years, they’ve produced only a handful – Ripken, Roberts, Markakis…
May 10-12 its Machado vs. Harper in Hagerstown! I’ll be there.
…Sounds like a BSR Road Trip!
