Dan Connolly at the Baltimore Sun tweets more bad news for former Orioles top draft pick Matt Hobgood. The right handed pitcher will have surgery on April 2 to size down his rotator cuff and is expected to miss the entire season.
The O’s selected Hobgood fifth overall in 2009 ahead of names like Zack Wheeler, Mike Minor, Mike Leake, Jacob Turner and Drew Storen.
And you wonder why this team has lost for a decade and a half?
In seven starts with Aberdeen last season, Hobgood went 0-6 with a 10.46 ERA.
Cue the circus music…
Another typical Orioles stupid move… Taking Hobgood in the 1st round in 2009 with the 5th pick. The guy hasn’t got past Lower A ball yet and is 4-15 for his career! WTF?
Don’t tell Bobby F. about this one!
Curious to know how many innings this guy has logged in the minors, Probably just a couple more than I have.
this is why baseball is dead in Baltimore.
Just wait till “Al” Bundy doesn’t live up to the hype… Hell “Bud” Bundy would probably have been a better pick for the O’s…

And the O’s make yet another millionaire high schooler……………..Peter the Great must be proud of his scouts………….
