Orioles starter Mike Wright hit the ground running in his first couple starts in the big leagues. Wright didn’t allow an earned run over his first 14.1 innings pitched against the Angels and Marlins and held batters to a .146 average.
After those starts, he began to scuffle. Wright posted a 9.98 ERA over his next four starts and was optioned back to Triple-A Norfolk.
MASNSports.com’s Steve Melewski points out that Wright has looked pretty solid down on the farm.
Mike Wright with 6 1/3 scoreless in Norfolk's win 2night. Over his last 18 outings (17 starts) with Tides, Wright is 11-2, 1.84 ERA.

I don’t see a spot in the rotation for him at the point, but perhaps Wright could help in relief in August and September.
