Nolan Reimold“But in this world nothing can be said to be certain, expect death, taxes and Nolan Reimold on the disabled list.”
– Benjamin Franklin

The Orioles announced the left fielder/designated hitter Nolan Reimold has been placed on the 15 day disabled list with a right hamstring strain. The 29 year old is hitting just .188/.257/.327 in 113 plate appearances this season and has struck out 30 times and walked just 10. Reimold hasn’t played in a week while Chris Dickerson, Steve Pearce and Nate McLouth continued to steal his playing time.

The oft-injured outfielder hasn’t played in more than 100 games since 2009 and continues to get further and further away from those awesome first couple months in the big leagues he had that made many run out and buy his jersey.

In addition to Reimold being place on the DL, the O’s activated Jair Jurrjens for today’s start, recalled Jake Arrieta for some bullpen help and optioned Alex Burnett.

Fun times.
