Over the weekend, Cedric Benson became the third Cincinnati Bengal arrested in the past week. Benson, who was arrested last summer, spent time in the slammer in Texas after being charged with assault causing bodily injury to a member of his own family.
His teammate, Chad Ochocino, tweeted on Sunday afternoon that Benson’s arrest was a “misunderstanding.” Ochocino never clarified how exactly it was a misunderstanding.
Benson, who is a free agent pending a new CBA, likely closed the door on his chances of returning to Cincinnati in 2011, at least according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.
This arrest has caused an online flurry of favorite Cedric Benson arrests. So far the favorite seems to be a boating under the influence arrest in Colorado which led to Benson being pepper sprayed by authorities.
