The Orioles will introduce Japanese pitcher Koji Uehara, who finalized a two-year, $10 million deal with the Orioles yesterday. While the Orioles desperately need pitching, they also need a veteran catcher to bring up future star Matt Wieters.

The answer is Gregg Zaun.

Zaun, a former Oriole and nephew of Rick Dempsey, is a free agent from Toronto. Reportedly, Zaun was looking for a multi-year deal, but Jeff Zrebiec at the Baltimore Sun is reporting that Andy MacPhail and the Birds are close to finishing a one year deal with Zaun.

Maybe they could announce that at the press conference today too…ahh, that probably wishful thinking, but perhaps later this week.
