The Baltimore Orioles never ending quest for a left handed hitting outfielder continues and their latest targets are David Peralta and Ender Inciarte of the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to FOXSports.com’s Jon Morosi.
[quote_box_center]Meanwhile, the Orioles are looking for a left-handed-hitting outfielder and have inquired with the Diamondbacks about David Peralta and Ender Inciarte, sources say. The Diamondbacks can afford to trade one of them because they also have outfielders A.J. Pollock, Mark Trumbo, Cody Ross and potentially Yasmany Tomas, if his effort to play third base is unsuccessful[/quote_box_center]
Both players are left handed hitters of Venezuelan descent. Peralta, 27 years old, has just 88 games of big league experience under his belt. He played primarily the corner outfield spots last season (33 games in left, 40 in right field) and slashed .286/.320/.450 with a 100 OPS+.
Inciarte, 24 years old, played in 118 games with the D’Backs last season, mostly in center field (74 games) and hit .278/.318/.359 with an 89 OPS+.
Arizona is in the market for a catcher, the O’s happen to have four on the 40 man roster and just signed J.P. Arencibia to a minor league deal, and starting pitching.
