People that complain about Interleague play are lame. How awesome was it to see the Dodgers come to Camden Yards this weekend?
Answer: Really awesome, but mostly because the O’s took two out of three.
Don’t agree with me? Well you’re in the minority because 113,324 people came to Oriole Park over the weekend to watch the O’s take on LA. On Sunday, 41,265 were in attendance.
I went to Friday’s rainout, then came back for game one of the double-header on Saturday. While the crowd was light, I was impressed with the turnout given how quickly fans were asked to get back to the Yard after the previous night’s game was postponed.
In nine games at Camden Yards this season, the Orioles have had crowds of over 40,000 four times. I spent a lot of time complaining about the lack of support for the O’s last season and I’m happy to blog about larger crowds supporting them in 2013.
People were antsy with the draft four days away , they needed to got the emotions out,,,,,,,,,,,,,you and I both know they went there for Boog’s pit beef , nothing more,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it prooves the Dodgers are one of the big draws in baseball , after all they do come from a baseball town , and we are a football town and don’t you forget it……………………
Face it Spy, this is a baseball town and has been since 1954. Just becasue we were losing doesn’t mean we didn’t love our O’s!
World Series bound, baby!
speaking of 1954,,,,,,,,,,I have a team baseball from 1954 given to me from my dad , way back when,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it is signed by most of the team , do you know if it is worth anything , it is in pretty fair condition……………..
priceless….
Donate it to the Babe Ruth House.
If only the weather had of been a tad warmer…
Otherwise it was a pretty good weekend for baseball in Baltimore. 2 of 3 from one of the highest payrolls in baseball.
Way to go, Buck.
