I’ll spare you of the Orioles “red hot” jokes. Everyone has already tweeted the living daylights out of them.
Continuing with the insanity of the O’s 2012 season, the team’s charter plane had to make an emergency landing in Jacksonville due to a small fire on board. Everyone is okay. Don’t worry.
Tommy Hunter was a guest on MLB Network Radio late on Sunday night and talked about the Orioles emergency landing and their crazy adventure to Tampa Bay. “It was a little wild trip, but nothing we can’t handle,” Hunter said.
“I think it was just a little smoke, maybe somebody put some aluminum foil in the microwave. I don’t know what happened. It wasn’t too bad, we just had to land pretty quick. It was a pretty crazy ride down, I’ll tell you that much.”
Hunter said he’s a nervous flyer, but wasn’t too worried about the emergency landing. The delay did put the Orioles back in the air from Jacksonville to Tampa when they clinched a playoff berth as the Angels fell to the Rangers, 8-7.
