The Blue Jays lost another difficult game last night in Houston against the Astros, padding the Orioles first place lead in the AL East to one whole game. Now, Baltimore hosts the Texas Rangers, fresh off their exciting trade deadline, for a three-game set at Camden Yards.
How tough will the rest of August and September be for the Birds and their division opponents? MASNSports.com’s Steve Melewski took a look:
Orioles: 28 at home, 30 away, 41 versus .500 or better teams
Red Sox: 22 at home, 37 away, 37 versus .500 or better teams
Blue Jays: 25 at home, 32 away, 35 versus .500 or better teams
interleague play which is dumb srews the o’s they play nats Bosox play braves . #unbalanced
We will fall off big time. I feel bad. Just not feeling it. We have to hope the other teams are just worse than us
Love the optimism!
Well, they’re really good at home, 8 of the 41 against .500+ teams are the Red Sox, whom they have done well against the last few years, 9 are the Yankees who are selling and might be done, and 4 are the Nats. We own the MASN cup.
On the flip side, they aren’t good on the road and they have more away games than home games, and they have to play in Toronto, where they never play well, the last week of the season. Texas and Houston always give them fits as well.
So…no idea?
