Jon Heyman is reporting that the Orioles have agreed to a deal with C Welington Castillo for one year, $6 million with a player option for 2018 worth $7 million.

Castillo spent last season with the Arizona Diamondbacks where, in 119 games, he had a .264/.322./.423 slash line with 14 home runs, 68 RBI’s, .319 wOBA, 92 wRC+ and a 1.7 WAR.

This deal most likely means that the Orioles are going to part ways with their long time catcher Matt Wieters while Castillo will bridge the gap to prospect Chance Sisco.
