There are many unclear story lines at Orioles camp in Sarasota.
Who knows which pitcher will take the hill on Opening Day? It’s unclear how healthy Nick Markakis will be coming off Abdominal surgery or just how injured Zach Britton’s shoulder really is.
But on thing is for certain. The Baltimore Orioles might not beat you this Spring, but they’ll certainly tie you.
In fact, according to the hard work and research of MASNSports.com’s Roch Kubatko, the O’s five spring training ties is a record. Although Roch’s fancy stats only go back to 1996.
So basically that means this great Orioles record dates back to the last time they had a winning regular season.
With those five ties, the Orioles find themselves at .500 this Spring. If only you could tie during the regular season.
Of course, Spring Training records mean nothing. Toronto sits atop the Grapefruit league standings while the Oakland A’s lead the action in Arizona. I love it.
