So now we know why the O’s have dropped two in a row to the last place Toronto Blue Jays. It’s the old SI jinx.
The Baltimore Orioles have made the cover of the October 1 issue of Sports Illustrated. The cover features Nick Markakis, Adam Jones and Endy Chavez in the team’s signature victory leap.
The cover features stories that detail both Washington and Baltimore’s success, highlighting a piece on Nationals manager Davey Johnson, Robert Griffin III and a column on the Orioles titled “Down To The Wire”.
Surprisingly, no love for the Ravens who arguably are the most successful of the DMV baseball and football teams.
Either way, it’s great to see the Orioles recognized for their 2012 season. It seems like most of the national media has chalked up the Birds success to luck.
SI appears to think they are for real.
How can I purchase 3 copies of this Orioles front cover issue?
