I’m still waiting for that Jeremy Guthrie performance. I don’t know, he’s gone 8 innings and lost but I want a strong Ace-like performance.

It didn’t happen last night in Kansas City either. Guthrie pitched 5 innings and gave up 4 earned runs, raising his ERA to 5.21. But the O’s bats are just too hot to handle right now.

Aubrey Huff homered in the 4th, his 7th of the year. That put the O’s on the board down 2-1. Cesar Izturis a lead in the 5th with his triple that scored Felix Pie and Brian Roberts. Then when the Royals cut the lead to one Izturis came through again with an RBI single in the 6th.

Danys Baez struggled during his inning of work. He walked two, but got out of the jam. Baez showed some frustration after failing to locate several pitches. Jamie Walker gave up 1 but Jim Johnson held the lead as the O’s won their first game of the 10 game road trip.
