Baltimore wrapped up their nine game road trip with the finale of the three game set tonight in Minnesota. The birds looked to take one after dropping their first two games of the series.

The O’s scored two in the first on an infield single from Cesar Izturis and a throwing error from Twins’ shortstop Orlando Cabrera which gave them a 2-0 lead.

Baltimore tacked on another run in the fourth when Felix Pie hit a solo homer to center field. It was his fifth homer of the season. Pie made up for his poor base running last night with a homerun and a run scored on a Chad Moeller RBI double in the sixth inning.

Jeremy Guthrie had one of his better ’09 starts with seven innings of one run baseball. He also struck out five and won his second straight game.

The O’s concluded their road trip with four wins and five losses and took the season series against the Twins three games to two. They come home to start their first series of the year against the Cleveland Indians.
