According to a tweet from Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles signed free agent relief pitcher Jeremy Accardo to a one year $1.08 million deal.  It comes as a low risk move for the Birds according to Ben Nicholson-Smith of MLBTradeRumors.com.

Accardo, 29 this weekend, saved 30 games and posted a 2.14 ERA with 7.6 K/9 and 3.2 BB/9 as the Blue Jays’ closer in 2007. He has since bounced between the majors and minors and spent most of last season at Triple-A Las Vegas, where he posted a 3.48 ERA with 5.3 K/9 and 3.1 BB/9.

The Orioles did lose free agent relief pitcher Matt Albers to the Boston Red Sox last night.  This should come as no surprise though, as the Orioles declined to offer Albers a contract this offseason.  The 27 year old was 5-3 with a 4.25 ERA last season with the Orioles.
