After falling 5-3 on Saturday, Brian Matusz marched the Orioles to a four game series split with the Cleveland Indians.
Matusz earned his third win of the season in a gem. Seven innings, four hits, one earned run, and eight strikeouts. In the seventh he recorded three outs in just five pitches. Has Brian Matusz turned the corner?
Credit the Orioles’ bats for getting the job done for Matusz with five runs. Felix Pie hit another homerun, he’s up to seven on the season and three in his last four games. Pie hit a two run shot in the third inning to give Baltimore a 3-0 lead. He’s hitting .383 over his last 16 games.
Luke Scott‘s bat might be turning around too. He had an RBI double in the third inning and went 1 for 3.
Jim Johnson got his seventh save, he retired the side on just 12 pitches.
