Apparently, The Hoodie is doing everything he can to motivate the Patriots for their upcoming battle against the Ravens on Sunday. Bill Belichick took his team out to a date at the movies for a little bit of extra motivation.
Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald shares the details:
Belichick coordinated an earlier practice and run of meetings to get the team done for the day in time for everyone to go to the movie theater, where they saw “Lone Survivor.” Belichick has put together some team outings like this in the past, and the last known movie trip was another Mark Wahlberg flick — “The Fighter.”
Wahlberg, a Dorchester native, has been around Belichick and Robert Kraft in the past, so there’s a connection there. And this offered Belichick a different slant at a motivational teaching point by sharing a story about the Navy SEALs, right before a road trip to Baltimore, no less.
You typically don’t see in season motivation like this, it’s usually more of a training camp ritual. Darin Gantt of ProFootballTalk.com writes that “Lone Survivor” is about a group of Navy SEALs under attack, which could relate perfectly to Tom Brady‘s receiving corps.
Will Belichick’s motivation be enough? The Ravens are 2.5 point favorites on Sunday. BSR’s resident degenerate Jabby Burns likes the good guys to win, 34-27.
