Projection systems haven’t been big fans of the recent Baltimore Orioles teams. Despite winning 96 games in 2014 and winning the American League East by 12 games, PECOTA from Baseball Prospectus has the O’s finishing in last place with a 78-84 record.
Coincidentally enough, that’s exactly the same record PECOTA had the Birds set at heading into last season. As Steve Melewski points out on Twitter, it missed by 18 games.

FanGraphs’ projection system doesn’t like the Orioles much either, picking them to win just 79 games and finish last.
