As the Baltimore Ravens look to retool the defense that lost six starters from the Super Bowl winning team, the fine folks in “Sin City” give the team odds to land a veteran middle linebacker.
Online sports betting site, Bovada lists the Baltimore Ravens as favorites to land Brian Urlacher, the 13-year veteran from the Chicago Bears and the franchise’s leader all-time in tackles, who became a commodity in the open market after rejecting a measly one-year deal worth $2 million dollars from the Bears.
Urlacher at 35 years of age may have his best days behind him, but he’s still an interesting name for a team looking to fill holes at MLB after the retirement of Ray Lewis and free agent departure of Dannell Ellerbe. Urlacher could be another veteran presence to go along with the recent moves the team has made during free agency.
The Ravens lead the pack with 9/4 odds to land Urlacher, but other teams with middle linebacker issues could strike a deal with Urlacher at any time.
With the smart moves the Ravens have made this off-season, they may go against the odds and look elsewhere for the answer at that position.
Here are the rest of the odds:
- New York Giants 5/2
- Cincinnati Bengals 7/2
- Denver Broncos 4/1
- Minnesota Vikings 6/1
- Atlanta Falcons
6/1 - Oakland Raiders 8/1

As a 1-2 year stop gap, I would have no problem with Urlacher becoming a Raven. Urlacher or James Harrison as long as it’s not top money, maybe $1.5 – $2.5 mil a year. And they know it’s only for a year or two.
It’s goina take Monta Teo a year or two to become a starter once the Ravens sign the ladies (?) man…
F Urlacher, I would rather add the ferocity and strength of Harrison. If we draft Teo, does his girlfriend come too?
Urlacher is a bum, no way the Ravens pursue this dud.
All these guys mentioned so far are way too slow,,,,,,,,,,,,,we just got rid of an inside backers who couldn’t cover , we need speed at this spot for a change………………….
Odds on signing free agents now? This is a useless story.
