A dominant win against a division rival has placed the Baltimore Ravens at number four in ESPN.com’s NFL Power Rankings. The Ravens find themselves behind the defending champion Green Bay Packers, a team that hasn’t won a playoff game in three years but that everyone assumes will be good this season, the New England Patriots and the dream team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
AFC North blogger James Walker, who earlier in the week claimed that the Ravens were the favorite to win their division, wrote “Baltimore let out all its playoff frustration in a 35-7 drubbing of the Steelers.”
The Ravens climbed from the eighth spot to four and finish ahead of a couple unusual teams in my opinion. The New York Jets finish right behind Baltimore and moved up two spots, despite being handed a victory on Sunday night by Tony Romo and the Cowboys. And even after the slaughter they took against the Ravens, the Steelers still find themselves ranked eighth ahead of the San Diego Chargers.

Uh, didn’t the Ravens perform well above average in all 3 phases of the game? Did Green Bay’s defense show up?!? The Pats? Yeah, they finally put away the Chad Henne led Dolphins in the fourth quarter. The Eagles? Sure, they were impressive against the St. Louis Rams?!? The Ravens manhandled the defending AFC Champions. Where’s the love?
