Earth shaking news out at Owings Mills today, the Baltimore Ravens
appear close to have reached a two year deal for offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie. Ryan Mink of BaltimoreRavens.com broke the news of the deal, which team officials have announced that they are working on with the former Minnesota Viking.
McKinnie was a dominant force for the Minnesota Vikings during the past nine seasons.
He was cut by the team on Aug. 3 after going on the non-football injury list. McKinnie reported to training camp at nearly 400 pounds, according to reports. He was listed at 6-foot-8, 335 pounds last season.
In addition to failing his physical, McKinnie also has a history of making some bad decisions. There’s the 2005 gas station incident, the boat cruise scandal and the 2008 night club incident. But other that that…
Assuming McKinnie gets in shape, he could move Michael Oher back over to right tackle. He was about 65 pounds over weight just a few weeks ago though.
