The Ravens are nearing a deal with free agent wide receiver Malcom Floyd. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune reports that Baltimore offered Floyd a deal that tops the $3 million per year that the Chargers were willing to spend on the wide receiver.
On Wednesday, the Chargers signed wide receiver Laurent Robinson, who Acee believes will be Floyd’s replacement as an experienced and “acrobatic” receiver.
Floyd would likely serve as Derrick Mason’s replacement in Baltimore as Mason will likely sign with the New York Jets later today. Mason was to be paid $4.5 million this season and Floyd will likely be paid just above $3 million.
He certainly would serve nicely as a stretch the field guy. All the physical attributes, I really have no idea about his hands or route running.
Floyd is a decent deep threat but the Chargers have an o-line that gives their wide-outs time to get down field,,,,,,,,, the Ravens are not able to run routes that take four seconds to develop,,,,,,,,,poor Joe again this year , thanks ozzie……….
Better get a right tackle and center or it doesn’t matter who your q-back is or your receivers………..
