There’s no escaping it.
Deflate-gate is sweeping the nation and the Ravens continue to find themselves wrapped up in the middle of the Patriots’ latest cheating scandal.
FOX Sports reports that the Ravens may have given the Colts a heads up heading into the AFC Championship game:
[quote_box_center]The Baltimore Ravens tipped off the Indianapolis Colts going into the AFC title game about the Patriots potentially doctoring the air in footballs, according to FOX Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer.[/quote_box_center]
John Harbaugh, who is out in Arizona preparing to coach in the Pro Bowl, dismissed those claims.
Via ESPN.com:
[quote_box_center]”We did not notice anything,” Harbaugh said Wednesday. “We never had a ball that they used or anything like that on offense, so we don’t know anything about that in our game. We didn’t have a chance to handle any of their offensive footballs.”[/quote_box_center]
Of course, Chris Canty didn’t make things any easier for the Ravens. I blogged this morning about Canty boldly comparing some deflated footballs to performance enhancing drugs.
As a fan, I personally would like to see the Ravens distance themselves from this controversy. Any comments criticizing the Pats sound like sour grapes.
