A day after signing free agent fullback Vonta Leach, the Ravens are looking to continue working on offensive improvements. Last week, reports had indicated that Baltimore showed some interest in Chargers free agent wide receiver Malcom Floyd.
The news about Floyd and the Ravens appeared to slow down over the weekend, but Sunday night Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post tweeted that the Ravens still “have interest” in Floyd.
At age 29, Floyd would make the Ravens receiving corps even more dynamic. He’s 6′ 5″, runs deeps routes and averaged just under 20 yards per catch last season. He would provide Joe Flacco with a different look than Anquan Boldin, who will become the number one target on the team.
Various media outlets are reporting that Floyd has a “slim chance” of re-signing with the Chargers. He has received interest from the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings and (you guessed it) the New York Jets.
Until ozzie shores up the o-line , it doesn’t matter who the wide-outs are,,,,,,,,,,,,this o-line is now the same as last year , if you think Jah Reid is going to make a difference this year , you are smoking what ozzie is smoking………..
I agree with spy,the right tackle now is Oneil Cousins. Look out Joe , here they come and Matt Birk means Joe will have no place to step up into again this year, ozzie gets a failing grade again.
Poor Joe , again and again and again.
we will pound the ball and play action pass..in ozzie i trust
Malcolm Floyd would be a terrific addition to the Ravens’ offense. Great move if they choose to get younger at WR. I am also not opposed to bringing back Derrick Mason if they don’t get Floyd. They will definitely add a veteran WR during training camp or the preseason.
Agree we need offensive line depth. More concerned about depth at this point than whether they players they have can play, I believe they can. Time to let the young guys make it or not. Think Ravens have a lot of high potential R-3 year guys time to find out if they will cut it as main backups/starters.Defense – Cody, A. Jones, Kruger, Kindle, J. Smith, Webb Offense – Dickson, Pitta, Doss, T. Smith, D. Reed, Harwood, Jah Ried.
signing Leach improves the offensive line alone….and spy you have no idea how the offensive line is going to be until you see them work in tandem.
