With the NFL draft in the rear view mirror, it’s time to focus our attention on actual football news. Well, sorta.
The Baltimore Ravens assigned their newly selected rookies jersey numbers on Tuesday. BaltimoreRavens.com’s Garrett Downing has the full list:
- WR Breshad Perriman, No. 18
- TE Maxx Williams, No. 87
- DT Carl Davis, No. 94
- OLB Za’Darius Smith, No. 90
- RB Javorius “Buck” Allen, No. 37
- CB Tray Walker, No. 25
- TE Nick Boyle, No. 82
- OL Robert Myers, No. 70
- WR Darren Waller, No. 12
A few notes on those numbers:
- Perriman’s 18 was previously worn by Donte Stallworth, Elvis Grbac and wide receiver Curtis Brown.
- Za’Darius Smith was drafted to replace Pernell McPhee, and he’s wearing McPhee’s number.
- Oh hey look, 37 is back. Buck Allen will be sporting it for the Ravens for the first time since 37-year-old Deion Sanders did in 2003.
- Jacoby Jones is gone and the Ravens quickly handed out his number 12 to new comer Darren Waller.
