Analysis: Rookie fullback Mike McLaughlin was signed by the Ravens immediately after the 2010 draft.  He was scouted by several other NFL teams, but Baltimore had a clear interest in the free agent rookie linebacker and was immediately converted to play fullback.

The linebacker suffered a torn Achilles in college his senior year which allowed him to only start in nine games. He was voted defensive captain by his teammates as a junior in 2008 and 2009. He also finished with a career high 221 tackles, 4 sacks and an interception in his senior year.

2010 Outlook: The sky is the limit for McLaughlin on the Ravens this season. Despite have great depth at running back, Baltimore could use some support behind Le’Ron McClain after they cut Charles Ali and moved Edgar Jones back to linebacker. McLaughlin hasn’t played fullback since high school and will likely have to hit the weight room a bit before he really proves to be a factor at full back. Aaron Wilson has also reported that McLaughlin could be used as a long snapper behind Morgan Cox.
