Analysis:  The Ravens signed Travis Fisher as a free agent in the off-season to provide depth and experience in the defensive secondary.  Entering his 9th season, Fisher has plenty of experience having played for the Rams, Lions and Seahawks.  Fisher has been a starting defensive back as recently as 2008, but he has battled injuries regularly during his career.  Those injuries seemed to have taken their toll on the former 2nd round pick, as his best days are behind him.  Fisher has a good combo of size and speed and also brings the experience of playing in many different schemes and coverage types.

2010 Outlook:  It is no secret the Ravens are thin at the corner position.  Fisher has played a valuable role in training camp and the exhibition season, often running with the first team while the Ravens wait for other players to get healthy.  Fisher’s coverage was solid int he Carolina game, but he looked soft against the Redskins.  How much Fisher has left is unknown at this point, and honestly the Ravens hope he does not see the field a lot in the regular season.  It is likely Fisher will be called into action early in the season while Cary Williams serves a 2 game suspension and Lardarius Webb gets his knee as close to full strength as possible.  Once Webb and Williams are back it would appear Fisher will be the 5th corner on the depth chart.  Most NFL teams want to keep their 5th corner on the sidelines.
