Analysis:  Joe Reitz was signed as a free agent after a successful college basketball career at Western Michigan.  He was originally signed on as a tight end, but was then moved to the offensive line to provide depth.  Reitz is an athletic player who has good mobility, but he is very inexperienced when it comes to offensive line play.  To go along with his athleticism and mobility, Reitz has a long wing span and a great frame to be an offensive tackle.  Reitz spent the last 2 years on IR and one the Ravens practice squad.

2010 Outlook:  Early in training camp Reitz has been seeing more reps than usual due to injuries along the offensive line.  At times he has performed well, but he is clearly not as polished as the players ahead of him  on the depth chart.  At this point the Ravens would have problems if Reitz were called on to play much in the regular season.  With the addition of Ramon Harewood and the presence of guys like Tony Moll, David Hale and Stefan Rodgers, Reitz will have a difficult time making the Ravens 53 man roster.  Reitz could be kept on the practice squad for one more season and that is likely where he will end up at the end of camp.  If nothing else, Reitz can help the Ravens form an impressive pick-up b-ball team.
