Ray Rice wants his money.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the indefinitely suspended running back has filed a grievance against the Baltimore Ravens “challenging the team’s decision to terminate his contract on September 8.”
Rice’s position is that the Collective Bargaining Agreement permits one punishment for infraction. In July, the NFL suspended Rice two games for the assault. Then, immediately after the video surfaced, the Ravens cut Rice and the NFL suspended him indefinitely.
Florio points out that Rice does indeed have a case, though this attempted money grab likely will only add to his already severely damaged reputation. Had the NFL and Ravens received the evidence against Rice back in July, they could have avoided this headache altogether.
Here we go again, the Ravens and NFL finding another reason to piss Big Bill Urbatsch off! I called this months ago, Ray Rice was going to find a way to be back on the field even if it wasn’t on the Ravens. I knew it’d be another Michael Vick case. Everyone said “No, no way! What he did and what Michael Vick did is like comparing Apples to Oranges. Also, Vick is a QB and Rice is a running back”. Well, running back or QB, it looks like Bill is right, yet once again!
