It didn’t take long for things to get testy between the Ravens and Browns on Sunday. After the second play of the game, Browns nose tackle Phil Taylor was flagged for a personal foul after he slapped Baltimore running back Ray Rice in the helmet. Taylor talked to reporters after the game and hinted that Rice may have spit on him.
“Look at the film, you will see . . . I’m not going to say. It is what it is. I need to keep my composure.”
I’m not sure why he wouldn’t say it if Rice spit in his face or not. It seems strange to tell reporters to watch the video. Deadspin posted the CBS footage of the incident. Check out our GIF after the bump.
Honestly, I can’t tell from the video. It sort of looks like Rice yells one last insult at Taylor before he slaps him. If he did spit on him, Taylor waited a few seconds to react. But I can’t honestly say what happened based on that angle.
Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson expanded more on the incident.
“I heard a guy scream he got spit on,” Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson said. “If guys are spitting, that’s immature. That’s elementary. We’re all grown men. There’s no need to spit on a guy. I don’t know if it was Ray, but apparently someone got spit on.”
Looks like Ray might have let some saliva fly…can’t tell for sure though
to me it looks like he said something. Watch his lips. I’m not saying the guy didn’t get spit on him, but I don’t think it was intentional. He is wearing a mouth piece & I know from my son playing football those mouth pieces produce a LOT of spit.
You watch football? Bullshit!
I think he is blowing a kiss… some kisses are wetter than others
