Ed Reed told Rich Eisen that he was trying to cut back on laterals after interceptions just 10 days prior to his lateral against the Browns. Reed told Aaron Wilson after the Browns game that his latest lateral was a “dumb decision.”
“We was up and we were looking to get a turnover right there,” the Pro Bowl safety said according to a tweet from Wilson. Reed has always been known to try and make the big play, but sometimes it costs the Ravens.
This year he hasn’t turned the ball back over to the offense and seems to only be placed in punt return situations to make fair
catches.
I don't have as much of an issue with his laterals as I do with him leaving his corners out to dry with his eyes in the backfield.
I have issues with both. His numbers speak for themselves but he does leave his corners swinging in the wind too often and his laterals have cost the team before. His an automatic first round HOFer but these two things are issues.
