The Orioles roster continues to shuffle following their marathon 15 inning game against the Yankees and recent injuries to Brian Roberts and Derrek Lee.
Thursday night after taking the mound, the Orioles sent Chris Jakubauskas and Troy Patton back to Norfolk and recalled Nolan Reimold and Ryan Adams.
Fans have eagerly awaited Reimold’s 2011 debut with the O’s, but he’s struggled a bit at Triple-A this season. He’s hitting .237, with 6 home runs and 22 RBI.
Adams provides a replacement at second base for Brian Roberts, which could put Robert Andino back on the bench.
Crank up the Nolan Reimold Bandwagon…all those guys (Dempsey’s Army) who said the O’s shouldn’t have signed Vlad because it took away at-bats from Nolan (Who’s hitting like .230 in AAA), you got your wish! I know, I know, it ruined his “psyche” when he didn’t make the club outta spring training…but that’s what I said about the guy before, NO mental toughness. That being said, here he is, if he wants to stay, it’s simple…HIT. I hope ALL of you Reimold guys are right and we soon see what we were missing as the bottom line is I want this team to be competitive.
@MGW, The Agenda – I’m excited to see what he’ll do. Some MLB At Bats will help all of us to evaluate Nolan’s actual talent level. I am a bit of Reimold apologist but I don’t have much patience for the psyche argument. Lets see what he does when we add to his sample of MLB at bats and then we increase our likelihood of coming to the right conclusion. Also, Heath does some pretty great work at DA outside of Reimold which I for one really enjoy. If you haven’t checked it out its worth the clicks, in my estimation.
Meanwhile, Jason Bartlett, the SS with post.season experience two of the last four seasons, was NOT acquired for Reimold…JB has outperformed JJ in OBP, RBIs, SBs and games played to date in 2011…All because Brady Anderson recommended they stick with Nolan, who ain’t all the far from his 30th Birthday…Nice!
LOSE 17-5 ROTFLMAO!!!!
@Ol’ Bruz – Do you feel strongly about JJ vs. JB? I’m curious as to why? My opinion is that Hardy has health concerns but he is a better defender and at least bartlett’s equal at the plate. They are both sporting paltry .293 wOBAs this year over a kinda small sample. Is it mainly the heath of Bartlett that you prefer or something else?
Don’t do it Ross!!! I’m trying to help you out… Do not, I repeat, do not try to argue with Bruz as you will lose… Nothing against you Ross but I know Bruz and nobody beats him in common sense arguing… Bruz is a “Common Sense Savant”…
On another note, Who the hell is Ryan Adams???? I ain’t never heard of the guy… This is what we bring up to be Roberts replacement??? The “Calvary” the O’s bring for backups are Reimold and Adams??? You got to be joking!!!

Yes, I like JB more than JJ primarily based on feel…I can’t get away from the fact JB played SS for two playoff teams the last four years while JJ grew up with the lowly Brewers and doesn’t know much about winning…Also know that Twins stuck with JB for years, before “Selling High”, while they saw all they needed to know of JJ in one injury-marred season. Further, if we want to bring some stats in to the picture (besides the obvious health concerns with JJ, which have already reared their head here in Charm City), JJ’s lifetime OBP is just .322…JB checks in at .343 lifetime (just behind Brian Roberts’ .353). JB also brings the speed element, averaging more than 20 steals a year his last four years…That’s all I got… 🙂
