Monday morning the Orioles optioned outfielder Nolan Reimold to Triple-A Norfolk as part of their roster cuts. As MASNSports.com’s Roch Kutbatko points out, Reimold had batted .315 with three doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI this spring.
Reimold hit .315 wiith three homers, 10 RBIs, a .448 on-base and .537 slugging. Had option left. Pie does not. #orioles
Felix Pie takes the Orioles’ roster spot as the utility outfielder since Reimold has an option remaining.
The Orioles have 30 players left in their camp, the O’s are expected to cut Brendan Harris and option Zach Britton.
Baltimore also cut Rick VandenHurk and reassigned Clay Rapada and Mark Hendrickson to minor league camp.
Strike up the “Nolan Reimold, future HOFer, got screwed” bandwagon.
Reimold had a nice Spring.
Good for him. Now he can try to keep it up at Norfolk and get his chance this season when someone get hurts or his play warrants the team making a move and getting him up here.
