It looked like the 2016 All-Star game was destined for Baltimore. Then, out of the blue, Major League Baseball handed it to the San Diego Padres. Many speculated that the decision was made because the Orioles continue to play hardball with the Nationals over their “legal entanglement” regarding the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.
New commissioner Rob Manfred commented on the dispute at the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy on Wednesday and remained optimistic that a resolution will be reached in “reasonably short order”. According to the Baltimore Sun’s Dan Connolly, Manfred said an All-Star game could make its way to Charm City soon as well:
